Female Sufi Music & cuisine

Female Sufi music and cuisine is a unique and an authentic experience in Chefchaouen. “Hadra” or female Sufi music is unique band in Moroccan, in the Arab and Islamic worlds. For generations, Sufi music was restricted to men. This art has evolved it to higher status thanks to local ladies. Originally this music was performed to celebrate certain occasion such as boy’s circumcision and weeding parties where men is not part of the celebration. Hadra music was handed down from past generations of grandmothers. Now it is proudly praised and appreciated worldwide. Uncover Chefchaouen culinary art and diet  which is classified as a UNESCO heritage. You will learn about the specialties of the region. Similarly, learn to cook a local dish and enjoy your creation.

PROGRAM  OF THE DAY :

• 11: 00 : Welcoming of the guest at a family house in Chefchaouen
• 11:30: Learn how to cook your Tagine: chicken with olive and lemon or kefta tagine at your choice. The cooking will be in a traditional way on charcoal.
• 13:00: Have your lunch and enjoy your creation
• 15:00: Hadra music party and interaction with the Sufi music ladies. Explanation about the history of female Sufi music in Chefchaouen given by Fatima. Sip mint tea with pastries and enjoy your time dancing or listening
• 18:30: have dinner,
• 20:00 back to your hotel
