Chefchaouen Peaks

Chefchaouen in Berber language means look at the horns which refers to the two mountain peaks overlooking the area. Its Mountains are composed of very rocky limestone layers. The highest peak of the province is Mount Lakraa which 2159 m above sea level. Next to it is Tissouka peak is exceeding 2,000 m
The two mountains are located in Talassemtane Parc. This hiking itinerary will allow you to explore the beauty of these marvelous mountains.

Day 1: Chefchaouen-Zawiya Habteen

Arrival to Chefchaouen. Visit of the Medina and transfer to Talassemtane parc where you will start your hike the following day. Half board accommodation in a Gite.

Day 2: Mount Lakraa 2159m -Talassemtane Reserve- Zawiya

The following day you will enjoy a local breakfast consisted of local product. Then you will start a moderately challenging hike to Mount Lakraa 2159m. It lasts 5hours walking to reach the peak. You cross unique geographical formation and forests. Once you reach the peak, you will be able to see the Mediterranean from far together with splendid views over the Rif mountains. Later, you descend to Plaça d’espagne, a forest where you can relax, have your picnic lunch and contemplate the fir forest that exist only in this part of Africa. Going down lasts around 2 hours. At the end of the day transfer by land rover to the Gite, dinner and accommodation.

Day 3: Zawiya-Tissouka Mountain 2122m-Zawiya

Breakfast early in the morning, next you begin your expedition in the Park through a remarkable vegetation to the 2nd highest peak of Chefchaouen Mountains, Tissouka Mountain. The hike lasts 7 hours approximately. You will cross fabulous mountains and villages, meeting with the local people. Picnic lunch on your way. Finally transfer to the Gite at the end of the trek, Dinner and accommodation in Gite in Talassemtane.

Day 4: Transfer to Chefchaouen after breakfast
